Catnippers

The Pot-Nets Catnippers, is a not for profit group of volunteers working to

enhance our communities through better management of the feral cat population. In

September 2003 Pot-Nets Communities began working with the Delaware Humane association to create a Trap Neuter return program. TNR means that feral, stray and abandoned cats will be humanly trapped and sprayed or neutered, monitored for a 24 to 48 hour recovery period, then returned to the area from which they were trapped. at the time of surgery the cats are also given rabies vaccine and treated for parasites. This allows them to return to the communities healthier. It also helps to create a rabies barrier within the communities. To date, we have sprayed neutered over 400 cats and have help find homes for many others. We monitor the feral cat colonies throughout the communities and keep in contact with the Colony Caregivers who are caring for feral cats. Maintaining a healthy balance between nature and the residents of the communities is the responsibility of everyone. remember, we do not bring the cats here. We are just trying to keep them under control. We invite you to john Catnippers.
